'We will be safe after that': Afghan women march in support of the Taliban.

Afghan women have been protesting in Kabul and other cities for women's participation in the Taliban government and for their right to education and employment.

Hundreds of Afghan women, completely covered from head to toe, marched in Kabul on Saturday holding white and black Taliban flags in support of the hardline Islamist group. They were seen with hidden banners and Taliban soldiers carrying rifles and machine guns. Saturday's protests came after several demonstrations earlier this week in Kabul and other Afghan cities demanding women's participation in government and their right to education and jobs. Taliban fighters fired in the air to disperse the protests, often led by women, and effectively prevented such demonstrations.
